To elevate emergency preparedness across an entire district, we implemented a connected lockdown and mass notification system for two schools located on opposite sides of town. Powered by the Lynx system, the solution allows either school to initiate a lockdown that immediately notifies the other, despite the distance. Lockdowns can be triggered through dedicated hardware buttons, secure keyboard combinations, or directly from authorized staff computers—ensuring that response actions can be taken swiftly and flexibly in any situation.

Once activated, the system instantly alerts staff via SMS, notifies the local police department, and takes over hallway displays with lockdown instructions. Simultaneously, all access-controlled doors lock, exit buttons illuminate green for safe egress, and a lockdown message is broadcast over the school radio. Despite the geographical separation, both campuses now operate under a unified safety umbrella. Since deployment, drills have confirmed seamless performance, and staff at both schools have expressed greater confidence in their emergency response procedures.
